Biography
Born in Italy in 1972, she studied at Wimbledon School of Art and lives and works in London. Recent solo shows include: Transient Residence, 2009, Oriel Davies Gallery, Newtown, UK; The Tower and The Well, 2008, Monika Bobinska Gallery, London. Group shows in 2010 include: Urban Origami, PM Gallery & House, London; Outsider, Oriel Myrddin Gallery, Carmarthenshire, UK; Wish You Were Here, The Bath SPA Gallery, Weston-Super-Mare, UK. In 2009 Paper City: Urban Utopias, Royal Academy of Arts, London; The Jerwood Drawing Prize 2009, Jerwood Space, London; Unsound Practice, Dutch Kills Gallery, New York, 4th International Drawing Competition, Wroclaw, Poland, Who is telling the Story, Kadirga Kültür Merkezi, Istanbul. Further group shows have been at Contemporary Art Society, Gasworks, Fieldgate Gallery and fa projects in London; g39 in Wales; Festival for the Arts and Media in Yokohama, Japan; East International in Norwich, UK. Additionally in 2008 she was awarded the first prize in the Oriel Davies Open and commissioned by Blueprint Magazine to create a drawing for Paper Cities. Persico also curates group shows, notably Urban Origami at PM Gallery & House in 2010 and Isobar at Fieldgate Gallery, London in 2007, which was partly funded by The Henry Moore Foundation. She has also received funding for the installation Closed Circuits from the Arts Council of England in 2010. |
